On June 3rd, 4th and 5th, 2014, the Institute organized, for the fourth consecutive year and in collaboration with Friedrich Ebert Foundation, its annual intensive training on human rights addressing key topics in the field of human rights and international humanitarian law. The training was followed by lawyers from the Beirut and Tripoli Bar Associations as well as officers of the command of the Lebanese Army.

On June 6th, 2014, within the framework of its continuous programs on the right to a fair trial, the Institute organized, in collaboration with the Directorate of the Center for Women at the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (Escwa), a discussion session on the possibility of women’s access to justice in the context of the legal systems adopted in Lebanon and the Arab region.

On October 3rd, 2014, the Institute launched a guide including the practical indicators ensuring the early detection of the crime of trafficking in persons and its distinction from the other crimes. In addition to the Institute, have contributed to the establishment of these criteria representatives of the Ministries of Justice, Labor and Social Affairs, the command of the Lebanese Army, the General Directorate of Internal Security Forces and the General Directorate of General Security. The Institute undertook to print, publish and distribute the guide for free, with the support of the American Embassy in Lebanon. This guide has been elaborated as a follow up of the specialized round table that the Institute had organized on March 20th, in collaboration with the American Embassy, in order to show the constituent criteria of the elements of the human trafficking crime.
